I have always had a passion for health and fitness and started working out with Melissa and Michelle before Art of Strength Minnesota opened and fell in love with holistic approach to training. I knew I wanted to share my passion and started pursuing my personal training certification.
I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because I got results! After incorporating Art of Strength Minnesota training methodologies, not only was I able to knock 10 minutes off my half marathon time, and improve my body composition but I felt stronger inside as well. To top it all off, it’s FUN! it is the only form of strength training I have ever stuck with.

I coach at Art of Strength Minnesota because I have a passion to share the holistic approach to wellness with others. It’s not just about a number on a scale or being able to lift x amount of weight, it’s about living life, doing what you love to do and feeling good while doing it.

I have a strong desire for health and fitness based on how I was raised and to offset my time at the keyboard as a technologist. I became a member of Art of Strength Minnesota as a way to have a complete workout in preparing me for my hobbies. Working out at Art of Strength Minnesota helps me become a better instructor, coach, athlete, and person. It has a positive influence on my life, making it more enjoyable and rewarding.


I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because they focus on form, concern for safety, and the camaraderie between everyone during workouts and outside of class. It is impressive to see how committed people are towards taking care of themselves as well as the help given by coaches. It inspires attendance and creates positive vibes and energy! I have seen the results within myself, physically and performance-wise.

I pursued a passion to understand the body and physiology in 2008 when I went back to school and received my certification as a massage therapist. During that time I worked with a trainer in Michigan using the Art of Strength methodologies and I fell in love with it! When I returned to Minnesota in 2010 I knew I wanted to create a space for others to train using these same methods.

I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because I have seen results for myself, achieved running PR's, improved my body composition and pure and simple, love the workouts! I love the variety, the challenges, and the feeling that I'm doing something good for my body.
I coach at Art of Strength Minnesota because it is my passion seeing others pursue their health and fitness goals, achieving results, doing what they once thought they couldn't and learning to connect using their full body. I love how the training we offer at Art of Strength Minnesota is truly a mind-body connection. I enjoy being a trainer, but I love being a part of the community.

Melissa Franklin


I have been enthusiastic about sports and movement since I can remember. It is what keeps me sane, where I find my balance and fulfillment. As I became more involved in my professional career and had less time to commit to team sports and training, I realized I was losing what made me happy. Finding the time to just commit to staying fit seemed to be the focus versus really enjoying what I was doing. It was about this time I found Art of Strength, the concept of functional strength, dynamic movements, and the Kettlebell. I was excited to work out again!, I became stronger, more resilient and had more energy for everything else in my life.


I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because it is a community of like-minded clients and staff that support one another where they are at. Everyone is treated with the same level of respect and care when they walk in the door.


I coach at Art of Strength Minnesota because it fills my passion for health, community, and learning. Being a part of Art of Strength Minnesota just feels good. I am reminded every day of how important health is, how wonderful it is being surrounded by a supportive community and the joy of being part of an environment open to learning and developing one another.

Athletics has always played a big role in my life. From running marathons to playing hockey, the challenge has always been to find ways to stay injury free and "enjoy the journey". Art of Strength Minnesota has played a huge role in not only avoiding injuries but helping me to understand how my body functions and apply that in my daily life.


I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because of the variety of workouts and training for athleticism versus pattern overload keeps the workouts fun yet physically and mentally challenging. I love seeing transformations in people and watching them overcome challenges at the gym.


I coach at Art of Strength Minnesota because I believe in the vision of the owners and trainers at the gym. There's no pressure here, come as you are and leave feeling refueled. I love teaching, I love movement and I love helping others. Both personal training and leading group classes allow me to indulge this triad. That's a message and a mission I believe in.
I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because Art of Strength Minnesota considers the whole person. It's a wellness center that includes massage therapy, chiropractic, yoga, nutritional counseling and a safe, supportive environment to evolve and improve for both trainer and client. It's not just a gym, it's a health-promoting community.

Morgan Baker


I have had a passion for holistic health and wellness since I was young. It is what steered me away from training in the Western medical model and into chiropractic school. It is also what steered me away from big box gyms and out to the park at Lake Calhoun where I first met Art of Strength Minnesota. I instantly fell in love with its marriage of fun and fitness that built 'smart' muscle, breaking us out of bad movement patterns and into more functional fitness.

I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because it works! With this style of training, I've gotten stronger muscle from a weight-lifting perspective, but also faster in my running and more stable in my core doing all my activities of daily life (think: wrestling with toddlers!)
I coach at Art of Strength Minnesota because it gives me a chance to help others find a connection to their core, to better posture, and to a healthier style of living. This takes my practice of chiropractic to the next level and merges my passions for rehabilitation and prevention of injury. Plus, it's fun!

I have been into fitness and sports all of my life. Starting when I was 5 in my first Martial Arts class through the present where I compete in lifting and functional fitness competitions. I have always had the drive to help people, so nearly 25 years ago I became a Personal Trainer.

I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because I found Art of Strength MN recently and loved their diversity in their exercise modalities as well as a very welcoming community.

I coach at Art of Strength Minnesota because I found a gym with compassion for their members, a great knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology to match mine, and a great community. All of the other Coaches at AOSMN are dedicated like I am to helping the community attain their fitness and health goals.

My passion is to be the best Trainer/Coach that I can be, and help as many people as I can in my lifetime to achieve their health and fitness goals. I like to push clients to better themselves while maintaining a safe, scalable and injury free environment for their workouts. Art of Strength Minnesota offers a very diverse class arrangement for me to pass along my skills and knowledge to the community.

What brought you to this line of work and to Art of Strength Minnesota?
Doing yoga makes me happy and I want to share this happiness with others. As a long-time practitioner of yoga, I chose to deepen my practice by completing the Holistic Yoga Teacher Training program at Yoga Sanctuary in Minneapolis. In doing so, I’ve been able to see the benefits that yoga brings to my life, which is more than just becoming flexible. I am excited to teach at Art of Strength Minnesota because of the well-rounded approach to fitness present in the classes offered.
I believe in Art of Strength Minnesota because  I’ve seen the results that are possible. I was a member at Art of Strength before I was a coach. Joining Art of Strength and committing to weekly classes changed the way I approach fitness in my own life.
I coach at Art of Strength Minnesota because of the great community. The coaches and athletes are supportive and encouraging of each other, knowing that everyone is working towards being the best version of themselves.
